My mother was an incredibly hard-working teacher for 30 years. She loved her job and she was passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. She always went the extra mile to help her students succeed, and she was always there for them, both inside and outside of the classroom.
I remember when I was in school, my mum would often come home late from work. She would be exhausted, but she would always make time to talk to me about my day and help me with my homework. She taught me the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
I'm so grateful for the sacrifices she made for me and my siblings. She taught me so much about life, and she inspired me to become a teacher myself. 🤗
What's everyone else's story?
It's just something I wanted to do from a young age, I was always bossing my brother and cousins around as a kid and copying the behaviours of some of the teachers I had at home!
Despite it becoming increasingly more difficult and emotionally turbulent I couldn't of ever imagined myself doing anything else
My old Maths teacher, she sadly passed away from cancer a couple of years after I left school but her commitment always stood out to me. She wasn't the best looking woman in the world and got a lot of abuse from the students but it never deterred her attitude of wanting everyone to be the best they could be. Completely selfless and overall just an amazing lady.
Mum and Dad were both teachers so was just natural for me to fall into! They are both still and have always been big inspirations for me, my other half is a teacher too but we're encouraging our children to be whatever they want to be, time to diversify the family tree a little!
Always loved being around children so just fell into it, plus I wasn't very interested in any particular subject at school, so now I teach all of them (the best I can anyway🤣)
Always liked Maths as a kid but was never smart enough to become some kind of a scientist so teaching just became a natural option. Went and studied at uni after college and haven't looked back. Although days can be stressful I'm still happy with the choice... kind of! 😉
