Genuinely interested in how far people are willing to travel into school, I work at a school down the road so it's only a 5 minute drive for me but know others that travel an hour there and back by train to get higher pay in London.
Know a few that cycle too!
Anyway, tell me about your pleasant (or nightmarish) journeys back and forth every day!
10 minutes walk and 30 minutes on the train for me, I've been thinking how convenient it would be to work more locally but at least I don't bump into kids and parents all the time!
Takes longer coming back home than going in
20 minute walk, keeps me healthy although bit rubbish when it gets cold and dark like now!
45 minutes on the train which is a pain and adds to the expenses but I love the school and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else
15 minute drive, nice and easy, wouldn't have it any other way! 😉
Bike it in most of the time (when I don't have loads of stuff to take in) , takes a while longer than catching the bus but keeps me active!
Literally a 5 minute walk, lucky me 😉 doesn't help to relieve the stress though!
45 mins drive each way, but rural so stunning views and only traffic queues if I am running a bit late. I drive past my first school about half way there, and every bloody day I thank my lucky stars I don’t have to turn right and teach there again.
I take about an hour. 1 bus 1 train and 1 tube as I work in London. Love the school and I work in SEND so sometimes not as many local jobs. I'd say no more than 1 hr would be my limit in either direction.
